Teens Buy Anabolic Steroids From MySpace?

It may seem like a while back, but in September 2007 when breaking news announced the news that 120 arrests were make in regards to illegal drug-trafficking of steroids on MySpace. A teen could easily buy illegal anabolic steroids online with just a click of the mouse.

That was disturbing to say the least. When you think of someone pushing drugs to our teens in any form we cringe.

In one of the largest stings in American history, over 120 arrests were made. Reported now to be one of the largest anabolic steroid drug busts of all times. Thank God someone was monitoring something somewhere, considering our children flock to the social networks to be none other than, social!

In fact all the social networks are stomping grounds for predators, so parents and teens be warned! We worry enough about our teens going to and from school, home, events, and to friends. We shouldn't have to worry about our teens sitting quietly in their rooms at their computers. No parent wants to think their teen can buy anabolic steroids in secret anywhere, much less the net.

Teenagers do buy anabolic steroids, not just at the gyms, locker rooms or school sporting events, they can buy anabolic steroids online. The fact that the predators make it easy is indeed, more than disturbing!

Five men were charged in the Connecticut bust. These men are suspected of selling steroids on MySpace. How awful, if true. Of course these men knew that MySpace was a popular teen hangout so they weren't trying to sell to adults were they?

If true, then the intentions of these 5 men were to sell drugs to mainly teenagers. Just the thought of it runs a shiver up my spine.

MySpace.com is a very popular teen network and always has been. MySpace started as a popular network for musician's and all teens love music. Eventually MySpace became over-run by the teen market, and still is. These alleged crimes, taking place on MySpace has the world taking a whole new look at internet security.

Teens have it rough anyway. As if puberty and budding love-lives isn't enough for a teen to handle, they have to live through peer pressure, much of it centered around drugs. It's a literal sin that someone would intentionally seek a teen drug market. "Wow!', is my only reply to that statement! No words can describe how this makes me feel. We would be interested in knowing your comments as well.

In the case of this particular indictment only one person charged was from Pennsylvania. The others three charged in this case were three from the State of Arizona. They were caught trafficking raw powder from China into the USA. Once the powder arrived they are alleged to have manufactured the anabolic steroids and then selling them on the black market through MySpace.

Once the illegal steroids were made into anabolic steroids they were sold on MySpace directly marketing to the teen market. It's satisfactory to know that this illegal activity was spotted and being dealt with.

How is it that someone can be so malicious as to sell drugs to teens?

Teens, or anyone for that matter, can buy anabolic steroids anywhere. Anyone that wants drugs will find them. Our statement is always clear. Only use anabolic steroids or any controlled substance, under the care of direction of a licensed Doctor.

How Did You Buy Steroids Way Back When - Say, In The 70's?

You would be surprised at how many questions we get on what steroid use was like, way back when. How did you buy steroids in previous years? Either the 60's, 70's, or 80's, anabolic steroids have been used for a very long time.

One often wonders, "How did people buy anabolic steroids years ago? Did they take a simple walk into the drugstore, and pick the steroids from the shelf? Or was there a prescription needed back then, as it is today?"

Does anyone remember way back when and how anabolic steroids were purchased?

I do! You could walk right into the pharmacy with a prescription, hand it to the pharmacist and get your steroids. It was that easy.

However, as is is today, it's usually as easy and getting them from your friends in the gym. This isn't legal though, so be warned.

Did you have to have a medical reason to get prescription then? Sure you did! Most Doctor's would prescribe them to build your body mass, it's simple, mainly body builder's, just like today, who needed to build up their body mass were the ones prescribed steroids for the most part.

There weren't as many cases of AIDS back then, so obviously the use for steroids for that condition wasn't an issue in the 70's. Now days, AIDS patients benefit greatly from the use of anabolic steroids. Doctor's didn't understand all the effects of steroids back then. It was a common thing to write scripts for 10 - 20mg's a day for 2 months at a time, virtually unheard of these days!

Possessing a prescription of steroids or having steroids in previous years, wasn't a felony. That's a huge difference in the way it is today. Steroids are highly regulated now, and for good reason. There are many dangerous side effects to the use of steroids. Only buy steroids and use them while under a Doctor's care.

Where Do You Get Steroids From?

Have you ever wondered where steroids come from? How do you get steroids anyway?

Yes the truth is that most steroids are purchased on the black market, illegally. If you need steroid's it is never smart to purchase them against the law.

Be warned and careful if you plan to get steroids. If you are not careful where you get your steroids from you could get into trouble in more ways than one!

Not only could you potentially get into legal trouble, but concerning your health you could be putting yourself in harms way. It is very dangerous to purchase drugs from a source you are not fully sure of. It is so much smarter to get your steroids from a legitiate supplier.

Be careful where you get steroids from anyone you do not know. It might seem harmless to buy a small amount of illegal steroids on the street, but rest assured even a small amount of a bad drug can harm you!

There are a lot of steroid drugs that are illegally manufactured. These illegally produced drugs certainly cause huge problems with quality control. The health and safety of many good people is at risk by having such large amounts of illegal steroids on the black market.

Most black market steroids are mislabeled. Steroids can be contaminated, and how are you to know which are good and which are not if you’re not buying from a trusted source, or getting administered steroids through a Doctor’s orders with proper labels and legal disclaimers.

Watch out for mislabeled, or bogus steroids on the black market. Where you get your steroids from is important.

Good Uses For Anabolic And Other Steroids

There are many good uses for steroids. Most people do not understand steroids at all. Steroids are actually very beneficial. Perhaps you have heard a lot of bad news about steroids. If so, you’ll want to research the benefits as well. There are valued uses of steroids.

The majority of steroids are used in sports. Bodybuilder's are famous, or not-so-famous, for their use of steroids. Steroids have gotten a bad name through the years. However, there really are greast uses for steroid drugs.

Steroids are taken orally, but can also be injected. Whether you are using, or considering using steroids, know this, that steroids can be dangerous if not properly controlled. Please, as in everything, consult your physician before the use of steroids.

Anabolic steroids are very useful, and are used for anemia, breast cancer, and other conditions such as osteoporosis, and endometriosis. If you have a bad connotation of the term steroids then lose your conditioned thought because steroids are great!

There are also steroid creams that can be useful with rashes or other skin conditions. There are so many great uses for steroids.

Steroids do have negative side effect. There is also a big potential for the abuse of steroids. Anabolic androgenic type steroids are classified as controlled substances. There are stiff penalties for trafficking steroids. When considering all the good uses of steroids also consider the risks.

There Are Steroid Alternatives

How do you do it? You know what you want; a lean, cut, defined body, something that stands out in a shirt and better without one.

You can buy anabolic steroids. You can. You probably wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t know this already.

The problem, of course, is that in order to buy anabolic steroids you have to wander through a minefield of regulations, laws, social stigmas and health risks. Sure, you can buy anabolic steroids online, or from a friend, or with a prescription. And you can use them with minimal risk, in some cases, and you can stay safe from legal complications with a prescription, and you can achieve the body you’re looking for with amazing results.

But there are alternatives. The term “legal steroids” is used loosely these days and can mean different things, but there are supplements that mimic anabolic steroids that are legal and safe (or safer) than anabolic steroids. These range from simple protein powders to new compounds just reaching the market.

Again, you can always buy anabolic steroids if you’re interested enough, and willing to take some chances. It’s always good, though, to recognize that you have choices in today’s supplement world.

The Law and the Anabolic Steroid, Plain and Simple

What is an anabolic steroid?

An anabolic steroid is essentially a drug that mimics the male sex hormone testosterone, although it's more properly called an anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS).

Who defines an anabolic steroid?

For the purposes of this post, let's stick with the law. In this case, the pertinent law is the 1990 Anabolic Steroid Control Act, which defined anabolic-androgenic steroids as “any drug or hormonal substance chemically and pharmacologically related to testosterone.” Can't get any simpler than that, right? This doesn't cover corticosteroids, such as prednisone, and it doesn't cover female hormone or hormone-like substances, such as those found in contraceptive pills/implants.

What's the anabolic law say?

The Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 1990 classified, for the first time, the anabolic steroid, as defined above, as a Schedule III Controlled Substance.

What's a Schedule III Controlled Substance?

Well. Here's what it isn't: A Schedule III controlled substance is not a Schedule II or a Schedule I controlled substance. That means, essentially, that it has less potential for abuse than those substances, although it's still considered dangerous and therefore legally restricted. Other Schedule III drugs include stimulants used for weight loss/appetite suppression, some depressants, and narcotics such as codeine, morphine, and hydrocodone (e.g., Vicodin).

Some Thoughts On How To Buy Steroids

Considering the current climate regarding the use of steroids in competitive athletics, if you're considering adding steroids to your regimen you might be wondering how to buy steroids.

If you're going to buy steroids, you should be aware of the pitfalls first. Many steroids are illegal unless and except when prescribed by a physician or other health professional, and they fall under various legal jurisdictions depending on the country (and state). In any case, if you're going to buy steroids anyway it's probably best that you avoid situations that seem questionable or shady in the least. Not only are you risking legal complications, but you have very little ability to verify what product you're actually purchasing. Don't take chances.

On the other hand, many steroid users have been going online to buy steroids. The advantages are probably obvious: Privacy, of course, and also the ability to shop around, take your time, get opinions and do your research. As the world quickly moves toward an Internet shopping culture, in fact, many people find shopping online preferable to other experiences. When you're looking to buy steroids, why should that be any different?

Health Risks Of Anabolic Steroids

Anabolic steroids are hot topics for the mass media, and obviously popular among certain people, particularly athletes and competitive bodybuilders. There are fairly dramatic benefits, visible and evident, and a whole variety of horror stories regarding their use and misuse.

But what are the real hazards, the real health risks of taking anabolic steroids, and how real are they?

First, it should be noted that primarily these risks are attributed to misuse or overuse of anabolic steroids. In fact, anabolic steroids are used for a variety of legitimate medical reasons having nothing to do with cosmetic or strengthening goals. However, anabolic steroids can be abused and lead to a variety of health risks, including very serious ones, even cancer.

Other risks include hypertension (high blood pressure), cholesterol problems (lowering of HDL, or “good” cholesterol and an increase in LDL, or “bad” cholesterol, increasing risk for heart disease and stroke), liver and kidney tumors, and more minor but still significant side effects such as severe acne and tremulousness.

Perhaps the most serious risk from anabolic steroids, at least from those anabolic steroids that are injected, is the chance of contracting disease from shared needles, such as HIV/AIDS.

There are myths about anabolic steroids, but it’s always important to know the real risks, too.

What Do We Mean By "Steroids"?

It seems that steroids are constantly in the news, and not just on the sports page. Criminal prosecutions are common and generate headlines and interest. And still it seems most people have only a vague idea of what steroids are.

First, it’s important to differentiate between corticosteroids and anabolic steroids. Corticosteroids are naturally produced in the adrenal cortex area of the brain, and help regulate a variety of processes in the human body, including stress and immune response, levels of electrolytes (sodium, potassium, etc.), and carbohydrate metabolism.

Steroids that are manufactured (synthetic corticosteroids), such as prednisone and cortisone, are used to treat a variety of medical illnesses, from asthma to eczema to certain kinds of cancer.

On the other hand, anabolic steroids are used primarily for cosmetic purposes (in fact, the majority of use is not by competitive athletes or bodybuilders, but for exactly this reason). They do have other functions; for example, they are sometimes prescribed by physicians to help stimulate the appetites of people with chronic wasting diseases such as cancer or AIDS.

In either case, steroids are serious medicines and should always be taken under the direction of a physician or other medical professional. Side effects are serious and can be even deadly, so caution is always in order.
